Beyer unterbricht das Sweet-16-Bikepacking vor\u00fcbergehend, um es demn\u00e4chst zu Ende zu radeln. Und das sei nicht nur dahin geschrieben, denn es verbleiben ihm nur knappe 600 Kilometer durch Rheinland-Pfalz, ein wenig Frankreich und das Saarland, um die Strecke in Koblenz, also erneut im Rheinland, zu Ende zu bringen. Und dort hat Ch. Beyer bekanntlich noch eine Rechnung offen: Die treuen Leser erinnern sich, dass Mark Forster im vergangenen Jahr Ch. Beyer eine Tour zum Deutschen Eck versaut hatte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyways: Ch. Beyer m\u00f6chte sich und seinen Abbruch nat\u00fcrlich erkl\u00e4ren und \u00fcber die Erlebnisse beim Sweet-16-Bikepacking berichten. Doch dazu muss er ein wenig ausholen, was f\u00fcr Sie, liebe Leser, als Anh\u00e4nger des Ausdauersports kein Problem darstellen sollte. Der Ausschweif soll Ihnen einige Prinzipien des Langstreckenradelns, insbesondere des Ultradistanzrennfahrens, n\u00e4her bringen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mike Hall, einer der ber\u00fchmtesten Ulltracyclisten, sagte einmal \u00fcber das World Cycle Race, das er 2012 f\u00fcr sich entschied:  \u201cThe winner will be the guy who lives fast, not necessarily the one who rides fast.\u201d Circa 90 Tage ben\u00f6tigte Mike Hall f\u00fcr 27.000 Kilometer rund die Welt &#8211; ohne Unterst\u00fctzung eines Begleitteams! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der \u00d6sterreicher Michael (nicht Christoph!) Strasser, der 2016 am Schnellsten von Kario zum Kap der guten Hoffnung und 2018 am Schnellsten durch beide Amerikas radelte, vermittelt eine \u00e4hnliche Botschaft. Er meint, dass die teilnehmenden Radprofis im Vergleich zu ihm als Amateur in der ersten Woche noch Fitnessvorteile h\u00e4tten, die sich dann aber egalisieren und andere F\u00e4higkeiten von Bedeutung werden w\u00fcrden, so zum Beispiel die mentale St\u00e4rke. Dabei sei vermerkt, dass Strasser als \u00d6sterreicher nat\u00fcrlich dramatisierende Begriffe liebt und sich das Wort &#8222;Leidensf\u00e4higkeit&#8220; auf die Fahnen schreibt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der k\u00f6rperlichen Leistungsf\u00e4higkeit scheinen auf den Langdistanzen also Grenzen gesetzt zu sein. Irgendwann latscht ein jeder in einem Dauertrott in die Pedale, der sich von den anderen Teilnehmern nicht wesentlich unterscheidet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nun, liebe Leser, wenn schon die k\u00f6rperliche Leistungsf\u00e4higkeit sich zunehmend angleicht, dann k\u00f6nnten doch technische Aspekte von Vorteil sein. \u00dcbertragen auf die Formel 1, so meint Ch. Beyer, w\u00fcrde das bedeuten, dass nur derjenige gewinnen kann, der im Mercedes-Auto sitzt. Zum Gl\u00fcck ist dem aber nicht so: Die Ur-Langstreckenradler, die Randonneure, fahren fast allesamt mit mehr als 30 Jahre alten Stahlrennern und damit bisweilen sehr z\u00fcgig. Vielmehr ist es wichtig, dass der Radler m\u00f6glichst komfortabel auf seinem Velo sitzt, damit er die Strapazen m\u00f6glichst lange aush\u00e4lt ohne absteigen zu m\u00fcssen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Und somit, liebe Leser, w\u00e4ren wir schon beim heiligen Gral des Langstreckenradelns: Es gilt die Zeit auf dem Fahrrad zu maximieren. Das wiederum gelingt, in dem Zeiten f\u00fcr andere Besch\u00e4ftigungen wie Schlafen, Essen und K***en  aufs N\u00f6tigste reduziert werden (die drei fehlenden Buchstaben, die durch Sterne markiert sind, finden sich \u00fcbrigens im Wort &#8222;Acker&#8220; wieder). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Im Neuhochdeutschen spricht man in diesem Zusammenhang von &#8222;Marginal Gains&#8220;: Jedes gewonnene Min\u00fctchen auf dem Rad z\u00e4hlt. In der Industrie hie\u00dfe es &#8222;Optimierung&#8220;: Schlafen wird auf 3 h, Essen auf einmal t\u00e4glich und K***en auf zweit\u00e4gig rationalisiert. In Franken, wo alles negativ ausgedr\u00fcckt wird, w\u00fcrde man sagen: Das l\u00e4bberd sich!&#8220; und meint die verlorene Zeit bei der Befriedigung oben beschriebener, menschlicher Prim\u00e4rbed\u00fcrfnisse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Klar, im Prinzip sind &#8222;Marginal Gains&#8220;, &#8222;Optimierung&#8220; und &#8222;Sich L\u00e4bbern&#8220; keine neuen Konzepte. Sie finden sich in unserem Alltag, auf Arbeit und beim Sport schon lange wieder. Gerade im Hochleistungssport wird seit jeher um Sekunden und Hundertstelsekunden gefeilscht. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Crux bei den &#8222;Marginal Gains&#8220; beim Langdistanzradeln ist jedoch, dass der Optimierungsprozess scheinbar kein Ende nimmt. Beim Sprinter ist der Auftrag nach 10 Sekunden erledigt, beim Marathonl\u00e4ufer in gut 2 Stunden. Die Langdistanzradler betreiben den Optimierungsprozess jedoch tagelang. Und das, liebe Leser, kann ganz sch\u00f6n viel Energie kosten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00dcbrigens merken wir oft gar nicht, wie ineffizient wir im Alltag sind. Minipausen schleichen sich in unserem Alltag ein. Vielleicht sind sie notwendig, um K\u00f6rper und Geist Erholung zu gew\u00e4hren. Wir zelebrieren das Kaffee trinken am Morgen oder das gemeinsame Ansto\u00dfen mit Wein und Bier am Abend. Wir verz\u00f6gern das Aufstehen in der Fr\u00fche, da unsere Smartphones eine sogenannte &#8222;Snooze&#8220;-Funktion haben. Und wir nehmen die Zeitung oder das Tablet mit aufs Kabinett, um die Pause auf der Sch\u00fcssel in die L\u00e4nge zu ziehen. Bei Letzterem m\u00f6chte Ch. Beyer darauf hinweisen, dass das K***en von Zeitmanagement-Strategen auf die Arbeit verrichtet wird, denn dort ist es bezahlte Arbeitszeit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Letztendlich beschrieb auch Mike Hall schon die Bedeutung dieser Minipausen f\u00fcr unseren Alltag und \u00fcber den Stress, den die Wegrationalisierung derselbigen bei Langstreckenrennen mit sich bringt:  \u201cWhen you take all those little moments out of your day idly doing nothing, it creates a lot of stress. Those little moments can give a sense of normality.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Und wenn Sie, liebe Leser, nun ganz konkret bei einem Langstreckenradeln am Start w\u00e4ren, dann k\u00f6nnte das wie folgt aus sehen. Sie fahren eine Tanke an, st\u00fcrmen dieselbige und greifen sich soviel, wie ihre beiden H\u00e4nde tragen k\u00f6nnen. Sollten sie nicht v\u00f6llig dehydriert und\/oder unterzuckert sein, dann w\u00e4hlen Sie gezielt 3 Liter Wasser, 2 Liter Soda, 2 Mars, 3 Snickers und 3 Bifis und fragen an der Kasse nach dem Schl\u00fcssel zur Toilette. W\u00e4hrend Sie das Soda, 1 Mars, 2 Snickers und 1 Bifi verschlingen, packen Sie den Rest aufs Rad und eilen dann in die Toilette. Nein, machen Sie sich bitte hier keine falschen Vorstellungen: Hier trennt Ch. Beyer aus Anstandsgr\u00fcnden ganz gezielt die Fl\u00fcssigkeits- und Energieaufnahme von der Abfallentsorgung. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nach dem Gewichtstuning und der Katzenw\u00e4sche, welche sie sp\u00e4testens ab dem dritten Tag freiwillig beginnen, geben Sie den Schl\u00fcssel an der Kasse zur\u00fcck und  verlassen fluchtartig die Tanke. Circa 30 Kilometer weiter, drei Stunden nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit und vier Stunden vor der Morgend\u00e4mmerung finden Sie eine Bushaltestelle oder Parkbank, die Ihnen gepflegt vorkommen. Dort lassen Sie Ihre verschwitzten Radklamotten zumindest bis Tag 3 stets an, um am Morgen Zeit zu sparen, und wickeln sich in den Daunenschlafsack. Zuvor haben Sie bei l\u00e4ngeren Veranstaltungen, ihre komfortable Luftmatraze aufgeblasen, oder f\u00fcr k\u00fcrzere Veranstaltungen die minimalistische Isomatte ausgerollt. Wenn Sie der Schlaf nicht gleich \u00fcberf\u00e4llt, beantworten Sie die ausstehenden SMS-Nachrichten &#8211; jawohl, Ch. Beyer ist noch analog unterwegs! &#8211; und verfallen dann der Narkolepsie, ehe sie sich wenige Stunden sp\u00e4ter mit der Morgend\u00e4mmerung dem gleichen Wahnsinn wieder widmen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kurzum, Sie optimieren Ihren Tagesablauf bis ins Detail, um m\u00f6glichst viele Radkilometer im Dauertrott abspulen zu k\u00f6nnen. Und das macht Ch. Beyer, zumindest \u00fcber einen begrenzten Zeitraum, tats\u00e4chlich Spa\u00df. Es ist doch toll, wenn man einige Tage nicht von dieser Welt ist!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Um die Langstreckenradel-Effizienz aufrecht zu erhalten, bedarf es allerdings einer hinreichenden Motivation. Woher Ch. Beyers innerer Antrieb stammt, das wei\u00df er selbst noch nicht, aber einige Strategien seiner selbst konnte er aber bereits durchschauen. So hilft es zum Beispiel ungemein, immer den Supermarkt oder die Tankstelle zu w\u00e4hlen, die gerade noch vor Kassenschluss zu erreichen ist, denn das gew\u00e4hrleistet, dass sich Ch. Beyer beeilen muss, um in Zeiten seine Prim\u00e4rbed\u00fcrfnisse zu befriedigen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bl\u00f6d ist es nur, wenn gerade dieser letzte Ver- und Entsorgungspunkt nicht mehr verf\u00fcgbar ist. Dann muss improvisiert werden. Und so kommt es, dass sich der Langstreckenradler im Hamburger Ballungsgebiet nachts um halb eins tierisch \u00fcber ein Dixie-Klo am Stra\u00dfenrand freut, das nicht abgesperrt ist, da es an der Tanke f\u00fcnf Stunden vorher gehei\u00dfen hat, dass die Toilette wegen &#8222;Carbonara&#8220; nicht verf\u00fcgbar sei: &#8222;Sorry, aber da bekom&#8216; ich Mecker von meinem Chef.&#8220; Und, liebe Leser, wer jetzt das Wort &#8222;Waldsch***&#8220; in seinen Gedanken formuliert, der m\u00f6ge Ch. Beyer bitte erkl\u00e4ren, wie das in der Gro\u00dfstadt gehen soll. &#8211; Ach h\u00f6ren Sie, ein wenig Anstand sollte schon vorhanden sein! (die drei fehlenden Buchstaben, die durch Sterne markiert sind, finden sich \u00fcbrigens in der Rockband &#8222;Kiss&#8220; wieder)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nun, als Ch. Beyer am Aldi in Heidelberg einen gro\u00dfen Becher Schokoladeneis ausl\u00f6ffelte, das noch hart gefroren war, war es um ihn geschehen. Der G\u00f6ffel (Fusionswort aus L\u00f6ffel und Gabel) brach und Ch. Beyer wusste, jetzt sollte mit der Sweet-16 Schluss sein. Die noch ausstehenden 600 Kilometer w\u00e4ren bergig gewesen, die Temperaturen h\u00e4tten weit \u00fcber 30 Grad gelegen, und Ch. Beyer \u00fcberlegte schon, wie er am Folgetag, einem Sonntag, zu ausreichend Kalorien und Fl\u00fcssigkeit gekommen w\u00e4re. Bei Kilometer 130 in Pirmasens h\u00e4tte es wohl Tankstellen gegeben, ebenso bei Kilometer 195 in Saarbr\u00fccken. Ja, Sie haben es erfasst, liebe Leser, f\u00fcr die Snickers und Mars. Auf Friedh\u00f6fen h\u00e4tte er sich das Wasser besorgt, sofern er einige davon gefunden h\u00e4tte. Und am Abend h\u00e4tte er wohl den Schutz eines Hotels gesucht, um die verbleibenden Wasser- und Energiedefizite zu egalisieren. Danach noch zwei weitere Tage mit 15 bis 16 Stunden radeln, aber besserer Versorgungslage. Das h\u00e4tte schon geklappt. Aber pl\u00f6tzlich war der innere Druck viel gr\u00f6\u00dfer als die Freude an dem ganzen Wahnsinn. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P.S.
